Gerald was born the highlands of Baguio City, a former US military base and a popular tourist destination. Having grown up in a city with lush pine trees and fog covered hills and mountains, juxtaposed with old buildings which has seen better days, his love of the outdoors grew tremendously. Throughout his life, Gerald has always been fascinated by images and how the world is represented through the eyes of others. Naturally, he was drawn to sketch everything around him. After completing his degree in Medical Technology, and working in his chosen profession for a couple of years, a graphic designer by heart, Gerald wants to pursue his artistic aspirations, he delved and taught himself the art of photography and worked as a professional portrait and wedding photographer.
For now, Gerald is developing his own style in portraiture, specializing in graphite and charcoal and ink. He is not only limited to 2D media, he currently works as a visual designer, making eye-catching window decorations for a high-end clothing boutique in Abu Dhabi. His work was also featured in Retail Design Blog website, an international organization that features the latest retail window trends and designs. Gerald also wants to pursue a career in fashion design, trying to fuse science with art and aesthetics to clothing and accessories. He believes that his training and work ethic as a medical technologist, helps in making his unique style. Gerald lives and works in Abu Dhabi, surrounded by the sea and sand in the beautiful United Arab Emirates.
