"MEDIAMENTE" is a game of Italian words, composed of the word MEDIA (media comunications) and MENTE (“mind”, but which in Italian means also “to lie") the two words joined together mean: AVERAGE.
It is a series of works and museum installations, which began in 2009, which gave birth to the third solo exhibition: MEDIA RELIQUIAE (2011), SINERGIE (2010), ATELIER24ORE (2009).
Through the work of Weik in fact, it is made manifest cultural anxiety time to reflection on information, and in particular on the information routes management systems. The artist presents the viewer with images which already has an established familiarity, the same day that populate magazines, TV news and information Web sites. These are reworked and re-proposed observer with a new look, more attractive but also more rich in reflections on what is the real core of meaningful information, which is often concealed in favor of a more sensationalist communication and downright trivial.
