Mohamed Najeeb Al kooheji is a Bahraini musician based in Dubai who was one of the top 10 finalists in the Amr Diab Academy “A music competition launched by Middle Eastern music legend Amr Diab”. Mohamed sings in Egyptian, Khaliji and English and also writes and composes music. His Mother being from Egyptian Origins, Mohamed speaks both accents as fluently.
Mohamed’s interest in music started at a very young age. His first stage performance was at the age of 9 during a school concert led by Bahraini music maestro Salman Zeman, who then became Mohamed’s mentor up to the age 16. Performing on the keyboard, guitar, drums and other instruments, Mohamed slowly realised that vocal performance is what he really enjoyed the most and soon started to specialise in that at the age of 14 years old. It all started in Karaoke lounges and by the age of 15, Mohamed has already stepped in a professional studio and recorded his first ever single called “Ayami Maak” featuring an American rapper “Macus”. Ayami Maak was followed by “Bent il Nas”, “Khalas”, “Ya Salam” and other singles. With more in studio experience, Mohamed slowly gained good knowledge about audio mixing, audio mastering and digital music production.
By the age of 18, Mohamed was preparing to travel to the UK for his business degree however, that did not stop him from continuing his music journey. Mohamed continued his vocal classes after university hours and soon set up a band in the UK, which was then featured in the Reading Annual Cancer Charity Concert sponsored by WallMart “ASDA”.
Post University, Mohamed returned to Bahrain and put a band together which then performed in several weddings, private events and for the Ministry of Culture in Bahrain. His band included very talented musicians, who also played for big GCC names in the music industry. By 2012 Mohamed joined the Amr Diab Academy music competition which featured over 1000 applicants and managed to get to the Top 10. In 2014 Mohamed relocated to Dubai and started building his music network over here. He also is working on a few soon to see the light Arabic projects, which he describes as “Fusion”.
Aside to music, Mohamed is also a Lifestyle blogger and enjoys Photography, travel and all types of arts.
